The Ardmore Redevelopment Plan, Option B, was recommended by the Commissioners of Lower Merion Township and was subsequently approved by both the Lower Merion Planning Commission and the Montgomery County Planning Commission. The plan, which targets ten properties for potential acquisition and demolition, faces significant public opposition. The plan was challenged in Federal Court by a number of interested parties, including the Save Ardmore Coalition, targeted property owners and residents. Although the challenge was dismissed, it may be refiled in the future. The next steps involve the development of a specific redevelopment proposal and the solicitation of proposals from redevelopers.
