The Paoli Community Master Plan was completed in 2001, but actions to implement the plan have been delayed pending development of the new Paoli Transportation Center. With the environmental clean-up of the Paoli Rail Yard nearly completed, the Transportation Center project is expected to move forward in the near future. Tredyffrin and Willistown Townships have taken steps to implement the Master Plan, which envisions transit-oriented development in the vicinity of the new Transportation Center, with associated roadway, sidewalk and parking improvements. The Townships will need to acquire private property in order to implement these improvements. Although the Townships have not yet presented any plans to acquire specific properties, they have stated that they cannot rule out the possibility of condemnation.
